How do I pay for Sierra Blades classes?
 

You can pay by check; soon you will be able to pay with a debit card.

 

What should my child wear for class?

 

Students should come in sweat pants or jeans with legs covered; court shoes are desirable; students should bring a water bottle. Boys should wear athletic supporters and cups and girls should wear chest protectors.

 

Are your classes insured?

 

Yes, the class is insured through the USFA.

 

 

What are your class dates?

 

Fencing class in on a month to month cycle with no specific beginning or end.

 

What equipment will we need?

 

Basic equipment may be provided. We suggest any serious student get their own basic non electric set of equipment, approximately $200 which consists of mask, jacket, under arm protector, standard foil and glove. Electric equipment will cost another $250.

Are your teachers qualified?
 

All coaches are cleared by the USFA through extensive background checks as part of our governing bodies Safe Sport program. All coaches have certification through both the USFCA and Acadamia d'armes Internationale.

 

Can we still join your classes after the term has started?

 

Yes.

 

Can parents watch?

 

Yes, we encourage this.

 

What is your ratio of children to coaches?

 

One coach for 10-15 students.

 

Is fencing safe?
 

Yes, fencing is one of the safest sports your child can participate in. Equipment has gotten safer with the use of modern ballistic fabrics, steel mesh masks, and more stringent steel standards for weapons.

 

My child has some special needs, is this ok?

 

Yes, as long as your child has fun and isn't disruptive, he or she is welcome.
